Huat 2012!
It’s finally 2012 already and I will be celebrating my last birthday in my 20s. Oh no…. next year, I am gonna hit the big 3!!!
I know I am late, but well, I am gonna share what I have done for year 2011.
1. House
I feel one of the happiest thing that happened in 2011 would be to secure a unit at Belysa EC. I seriously can’t wait for the house to be ready, so I can start organising housewarming parties/ birthday parties/girly sleepover nights at my place.
Kelvin has also been very accomodating. He has been staying in the West all his life and in fact, all his family stays in the West too. Knowing I love the East, he gave in to me. For that, I would like to thank him for giving in to me most of the time. I will make sure he fall in love in the East, hehehe!
2. Career
Everyone knows I love my job. No, not just the salary. I love the nature of it. I think I found my calling! When I was with the ex-company, I didn’t love it as much. I wonder why. I figured having a good team and a good Manager really makes a difference. Speaking of good boss, I really have nothing but full of praises for my Manager. She is one of the most caring and generous person I ever known. Did I mention, she got me a Chanel necklace for Christmas? I will post it soon! I am super in love with the necklace!
I was given a huge increment, just before we confirmed our Belysa unit. I was so shocked, because it was a friggin’ 4 digit jump. And frankly speaking, the money is really good if you work hard for it. I can’t say how much… but yup, I never dreamt I would earn a 6-digit annual income. I am truly blessed. I was also the top biller for my company. I had clocked close to $630k. For year 2010, my total sales was about $430k.
I realised, I work better alone.
An ex colleague asked me, ” No promotion? You never lead a team meh?”
Yes, I had a promotion, in fact a 2 grade jump. I just don’t like leading a team. I don’t trust people easily and I don’t feel comfortable imparting all my knowledge and skills to someone unrelated and who knows… this person might even forget your kindness and bite you in the back in future. I have seen so many of such cases, that I feel… managing myself and earning this 6-digit amount for myself is good enough
.
In short, my work has been really very, very fulfilling. And more to come for 2012!!! I will definately aim to be top biller for this year. I have heard so many unpleasant news over the radio and it’s scary. If the recession really comes, I guess I will change my strategies at work ( in fact, I am well prepared liao) and I hope to maintain my sales and earn at least a 5-figure every month.
3. Personal Savings
Ah, this is one thing that I am very proud of myself. I used to be a big spender and now, I am a saver. Well, not exactly a big saver yet… but I will continue to save a big bulk of my monthly salary. To be honest, before I joined my current company and before I got together with Mr Wan…. I didn’t realise the importance of saving ( earn so little, how to save right?). Now, I truly do! Till date.. I have saved about…. haha, cannot tell you! But, I am really proud of myself *pats my own back*.
But one thing that needs major improvement is…. we always take cab!!! And worst, we are so pampered until we booked cab most of the time. Oh my, I think we spent about $500 on cabs every month ( luckily, can claim from company after 9pm on weekday). But well, better than spending on car right? Especially now when the COE is crazily high. We intend to get a car in about 2 or 3 years’ time when the COE is down. With our income now, we can definately get a good car… but we are not so dumb la. With a liability, how to save up?
4. Shopping
Hehe, with savings, comes shopping right??? Everyone needs to pamper themselves once awhile right? Hahaha, I bought a few bags ( 2 Pradas during my HK trip and 1 Miu Miu Coffer bag). But my most extravagent buy would be my Rolex! I have been aiming to get one and I finally bought it. If I earn a 5-digit amount every month, I will get myself a Panerai or Hublot at the end of 2012. I will also stop buying bags…. except for the Chanel Jumbo which I have been aiming too! Mr Wan says he will buy for me!
5. Relationship
I believe all couples has its ups and downs. Same for us. But I feel our relationship has become stronger and Mr Wan is one person I can trust alot. He is like my best friend and he says we are almost like 老夫老妻. We are coming to our 3 years anniversary in this coming June!
My family ties are still as strong and I hope my grandparents can live for as long as possible and be with me when my future child is born and teach the child when he/she grow up.
6. Health
Health has been okay.. except the occasional cough and sore throat. I think the weather is really bad and I am often scolded by Mr Wan for not drinking more water. My 2012 resolution is to eat healthily, drinks lots of water, slim down, and more excercise. We have been going for swims on weekends. Again, I can’t wait for my house to get ready, so I can swim everyday!!!
Lastly, I wish all my good friends and family good health and wealth for year 2012. And of course to my dear Mr Wan!
On New Year day, when the clock striked 12, we wished each other a great new year and we shared what we wanna achieve for 2012. I really hope Mr Wan will realise his dream and I will support him all the way. I believe he can do it!
